{"id":2225,"date":"2005-04-01T16:47:29","date_gmt":"2005-04-01T16:47:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.leobard.net\/blog\/?p=2225"},"modified":"2017-11-04T15:51:52","modified_gmt":"2017-11-04T15:51:52","slug":"foafme-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.leobard.net\/blog\/2005\/04\/01\/foafme-released\/","title":{"rendered":"FOAFME released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>we are happy to announce the release of FoafMe &#8211; a java tool for editing, browsing and uploading<br \/>\nFoaF files.<\/p>\n<p>The idea was to make generating FoaF files more convenient and interesting<br \/>\nfor everyone.<br \/>\nTherefore our guideline was to provide the following features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>  an easy-to-use interface<\/li>\n<li>    a self-explanatory handling to fill in data\n<\/li>\n<li>the ability to manage multiple files\n<\/li>\n<li>an integrated browser to show other FoaF files in the web\n<\/li>\n<li>a comfortable way to add people to the list of friends (implemented in<br \/>\nthe browser)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>FoafMe is available under<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/foafme.opendfki.de\">http:\/\/foafme.opendfki.de<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foafme.com\">http:\/\/www.foafme.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Further information about installation and usage can also be found there.<\/p>\n<p>FoaF (Friend of a Friend) is a vocabulary extending RDF which is meant for describing people, the links between them and the things they create and do. For example you can enter your name, your nick, the project you&#8217;re currently<br \/>\nworking on, the internet address of an image depicting you, and a lot more. The most important predicate to use might be the &#8220;knows&#8221; relation. One can add a lot of people to the file &#8211; referred to by the location of their FoaF<br \/>\nfile or by the unique sha1sum calculated out of their email address.
