I am happy to be a patreon of “Sailing Uma”, the sailing channel run by Dan and Kika. They make great videos where they sail around the world. Currently they are improving their boat Uma by rebuilding it.

In February 2025, they wrote the names of all Patreons inside the hull, including “Leo Sauermann”, as you see in the features image of this post. This will never be visible again, but knowing my name is written in Uma gives myself a physical representation within the boat I follow on YouTube.

This direct relationship with the artists I pay and follow is another example why I watch Sailing Channels, as I have longer written in Why I watch Sailing Channel Videos and not Netflix or TV anymore – because this is the future of media.

Eine Anleitung zu einem Workshop-Format für 2 bis 8 Personen, bei dem man spielerisch Figuren aus Marzipan formt und eine kreativ/wertschätzende Zeit miteinander verbringt. Inspiration für Motive sind Menschen, Tiere, Pflanzen, Gegenstände, abstrakte Formen. Entsprechend den eigenen Fähigkeiten und den gewählten Figuren entstehen in sich schöne Werke. Gespräche über Technik, die Ergebnisse, die Erfahrung führen zu einem familiären Wissensaustausch.

It is noon on the 1st February 2020. I am honored to be the 500st person in the world to see the first private video about climate activist Greta Thunberg crossing the Atlantic Ocean. I am able to be in this position because since years, I believe that Sailing Channel Video makers do something right, that they are pioneering a model that will change the future of media creation, that other media like TV, Movies, or Netflix try hard to achieve and will never achieve. Do I like it? I like it a lot.
