My “Tenet” interpretation: instead of war, the future is peace

Ives, the algorithm, the protagonist sitting at rest

Have you seen the Christopher Nolan movie “Tenet” from 2020? I did. After a couple of days, I realized that main elements in the movie are distractions. Beneath the lies, I found a positive story about nuclear disarming leading to world peace. This changed my thinking about planning the future and acting in the present.

Spoiler Alert: Please do your future self a favor and use this text in the following order:

  3. combine all clues in the movie and write your own answers to below questions

  1. How is the Tenet organization financed?
  2. Who built the turnstiles?
  3. What does “inverted entropy” mean in the real world?

Watch this 26 minute time-lapse video of our 16 months roof renovation project made from 389172 photos

Here is the timelapse video:

The video features…

  • friendly professionals doing high quality work,
  • deconstruction of the old roof tiles and truss,
  • construction of new truss and tiling the roof,
  • building our new flat,
  • sun, moon, stars, clouds, snow, and rain,
  • Ingrid and Leo.

It is intentionally “slow TV”. During the day, the professionals work. At night the stars and the moon and the bushes are. The video has a long pace and duration, as had the renovation. Every shown day features some activity. There is no music, you are invited to play your own background music.

Marzipan Figuren Workshop und Werkbesprechung

Eine Anleitung zu einem Workshop-Format für 2 bis 8 Personen, bei dem man spielerisch Figuren aus Marzipan formt und eine kreativ/wertschätzende Zeit miteinander verbringt. Inspiration für Motive sind Menschen, Tiere, Pflanzen, Gegenstände, abstrakte Formen. Entsprechend den eigenen Fähigkeiten und den gewählten Figuren entstehen in sich schöne Werke. Gespräche über Technik, die Ergebnisse, die Erfahrung führen zu einem familiären Wissensaustausch.

Cleveres Möbel-Design von Tischlermeisterin Johanna Schörkhuber

Johanna Schörkhuber ist Tischlermeisterin und Künstlerin. Es macht ihr Spaß traditionelles Tischlerei-Handwerk mit neuester Technologie zu kombinieren und dabe auf ihren Fundus an Lebens-Erfahrungen aufzubauen. Das Möbelstück “Sekretärin” wurde 2021 von ihr während des Corona-Lockdowns für gediegenes Arbeiten im Home-Office entwickelt. Es handelt sich um eine moderne Interpretation des traditionellen Sekretärs, die durch hochwertige Verarbeitung, platzsparende Konstruktion und zeitlose Schönheit besticht.

Collaborative Blokus

Collaborative games are so much more fun than competitive. Less quarreling and fighting. More caring about the input of others, learning collaboration. So Ingrid and me turned blokus into a collaborative game

  • Rules are the same as normal Blokus
  • Goal is to play all stones
  • Collaboration is freely defineable
  • If you are two players, each player plays two color
  • Picking stones of other player is allowed if other player gives consent
  • Rearranging, undo are allowed

Why I watch Sailing Channel Videos and not Netflix or TV anymore – because this is the future of media

It is noon on the 1st February 2020. I am honored to be the 500st person in the world to see the first private video about climate activist Greta Thunberg crossing the Atlantic Ocean. I am able to be in this position because since years, I believe that Sailing Channel Video makers do something right, that they are pioneering a model that will change the future of media creation, that other media like TV, Movies, or Netflix try hard to achieve and will never achieve. Do I like it? I like it a lot.

Mad Cow von Christian Cricri Marmorstein beim Uferhaus

Mad Cow – oder Carnotaurus – ist ein tonnenschwerer Stahl-Bulle, der durch Feuer zum Leben erwacht. Eine Skulptur, geschweißt in über 1500 Stunden Arbeit in den letzten 3 Jahren von Christian “Cricri” Marmorstein aus Weidling. Stark und Intelligent: der Bulle funktioniert als Feuerkorb, in mehreren Schichten Stahlblech gearbeitet, durch Luftströme und Wasser gekühlt, um während des Abbrands stabil zu bleiben. Unterstützung erhielt Cricri beim Transport, bei der Materialbeschaffung und der Installation des Bullen beim Uferhaus in Klosterneuburg. Die Namen einiger Mitstreiter sind auf dem Werk verewigt. Am 13.10.2019 erwachte der Bulle zum Leben. Ich und ein paar andere Burning Man Community Mitglieder aus Österreich waren dabei.

While preparing for Burning man

While preparing some things for this year’s Burningman festival , I stumbled upon this amazing page of bullshit science toys which I, would I have the money, without exception all buy immediately.

What brought me there? I was Googling for “Disgustoscope Burningman” to see if anyone has thought about this before. I will probably do this… a cheap installation I could bring. Of course, a disgustoscope only shows what you bring in, so it would be ideal for Burningman.
